Organic cotton

You’ve heard of organic apples, lettuce, and avocados, but what is the deal with organic cotton and why is it important l if you’re not ingesting it?! Well, the big deal has to do with how conventional cotton is cultivated and processed. You may want to sit down for these glaring facts:

- Conventional cotton is one of the most pesticide-intensive crops in the world

- Conventional cotton is one of the most watering-intensive crops in the world

These two facts alone point to the innumerable devastating consequences of growing cotton. From an environmental, social, and health stand-point, the cultivation of conventional cotton continues to pose harm which we must address.

This is where organic cotton comes in! Organic cotton is grown in a way that ensures the lowest environmental impact possible. Meaning, organic cotton is grown without the excessive use of pesticides and with significantly less water. Furthermore, farms that grow organic cotton are held to the strictest standards and regulations set and monitored by the US government and other certification entities.

You can feel good about buying organic cotton!

Supima cotton

Supima cotton is a subset of Pima cotton. Supima is particularly luxury cotton that grows in certain regions of North America. You may not have heard of it and that is because it makes up less than 1% of the cotton grown in the world. So what do we love about this rare cotton? Supima cotton fibers are much longer than conventional cotton which causes it to have magical qualities:

- Super soft

- Very strong

- Vivid color when dyed

In addition to its sheer brilliance, Supima cotton farms use innovative technology to counteract the wastefulness and toxicity of conventional cotton cultivation.

Supima stands for Superior Pima, and it truly is something special!
